Eihachi Ota, Hanshi was born in 1944 in Yaeyama Island,
 the southwest island in the Ryukyu archipelago.

 At the age of 13 years old his family moved to Naha City , Okinawa where he started practicing
 Karate with the High School Karate Club.  He later became a member
 of Masao Shima, Sensei’s Shorin ryu dojo.  Shima, Sensei was one of Soshin Nagamine,
 Sensei’s top students.

 In 1972 Mr. Ota moves to the USA and begins teaching and helping dojos in the US within the
 Matsubayashi organization of Nagamine, Hanshi.
                                                                                                                                                                                   
 In the year 2005 Ota, Sensei received the rank of 9^th Dan signed by his teacher late Masao Shima, Sensei.

 Eihachi Ota, Hanshi began his organization, The Okinawan S.K.K.A. in the year 1992 and heads several
 dojos around the world.
